Value Square - Vermogensbeheer en advies in Gent

Value Investing

We are Value Investors. We do not pin ourselves down on a specific benchmark but are looking for the best investment ideas out there. Our Asset Management Team analyses stocks as well as bonds and aims to come up with a conservative intrinsic value for each company under analysis. Value Square only decides to buy a certain investment if the risk/reward is in our favour and there is limited downside and substantial upside potential in a stock or bond.

Founders of Value Investing

Benjamin Graham was the founder of Value Investing in the 1920’s. He wrote two very interesting books titled “The Intelligent Investor” & “Security Analysis”. Benjamin Graham was a professor at Columbia University as well as the mentor of Warren E. Buffett, arguably the world’s best known value investor.

Is Value Investing successful over the long term?

The biggest problem answering this question is defining the term “Value”. In the paragraphs above we have tried to give you a very short overview of Value Investing but there is not one perfect definition as Value Investing is an art rather than a science. Hence, the estimate of intrinsic value for a company will often be different depending on the analyst.
